This is the new digital cable box that NTL use on their UK cable network.

Engineering menu: Don't change anything in here that you don't understand.
Hold the channel up and down keys on the front panel and power on the system. Wait 5 seonds, and release the keys. The box should continue it's power up sequence and enter the engineering menu.

On the remote control press in the following order: page up, page down, then the blue button.

Known problems:

These boxes are sensative to DECT phone base stations. At specific frequencies (450MHz comes to mind) the secondary harmonics from the DECT phone interfere with the STB tuner. This can cause picture lockups and freezes. The cure at the moment is to move the STB from direct line of sight from the DECT phone base station. NTL and Samsung are aware of this issue. I have personal experience this problem with my STB unit.

Rear ports:

There are no phono audio out ports on the back, nor are there any SPDIF outputs. You'll need one of those cheap SCART to phono adapters if you want to drive an external AMP, or take the audio from your TV. RF out is located on the far right, just out of view on the photo.
